Do More of What You Love - Inspired by My Papa

There’s something my papa used to tell me that’s stuck with me all these years:

“Don’t eat until you’re full. Eat until you’re happy.”

I even have it up on our wall at home on an artwork and it was one of the main messages in my speech for my cousins wedding.

Back then, I thought he just meant I could grab a third plate at dinner when my aunties and uncles were saying, “that’s enough already.” And he did mean that—but now I know he meant so much more.

As I got older, I realized what he was really trying to say:

Do more of what you love. Spend more time with the people you love. And don’t worry about what others think.

Life is short. Anything can change in a moment. And joy—it’s worth chasing.

This Brand Was Built From That Kind of Love

Garage didn’t start as a clothing brand. It started with family. With presence. With a desire to be more present for our daughter and return to the values that really matter. Values my papa lived by.

Even during his battle with cancer, even through the hospital visits and pain—he still showed up for the people he loved. He laughed. He talked story. He did what made him feel alive. And he gave us all something we’d carry forever.

This upcoming drop is for him.

This Shirt Is a Reminder

When you see the words “Do More of What You Love” on this next shirt, I hope it feels like permission.

Permission to laugh louder.

To stay for that extra hour.

To choose joy when the world tells you to rush.

To go back for the third plate—and not apologize for it.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not about being full.

It’s about being happy.

Thank you, Papa.

This one’s for you.

Reading this made me think of all the days we all spent at the hospital when Gramma Lonso and papa was there. We would spend our nights there with dinner,DS, and cards. No matter what event, good or bad, we always always spent time with each other and didn’t care what others thought. I love you kolby!
